ANAHEIM, CA, February 28, 2024 – SKYTRAC Systems Ltd. (SKYTRAC), a global leader in aerospace intelligent connectivity and satellite communications (satcom) has today announced that they have completed the first installation of a factory installation of the ISAT-200A and DAL-200 solution for the H135.
The installation was successfully accomplished this past month at Airbus’ facility in Columbus, Mississippi, a major milestone in the progress of this installation package. This package will be available to select when purchasing a new Airbus H135, enabling operators to utilize SKYTRAC’s powerful capabilities upon the immediate arrival of their aircraft.
While this SKYTRAC solution will be applied as a forward fit option on the H135, the long-term goal of this package will ensure it can also be used as a retrofit option for current H135 operators who want to take advantage of SKYTRAC’s DAL-200 and ISAT-200A combo. Enabling satellite, Wi-Fi, and cellular connectivity, the combo of the ISAT-200A and DAL-200 will allow current and future operators of H135 aircraft to take advantage of SKYTRAC’s critical capabilities.
The ISAT-200A is SKYTRAC’s narrowband satcom solution that features powerful data acquisition capabilities and services such as voice and text communications, aircraft tracking, satellite push-to-talk, and more. Utilizing Iridium’s low earth orbit (LEO) network, the ISAT-200A provides resilient low-latency narrowband bandwidth that is functional in the harshest conditions and available even in catastrophic events.
The DAL-200, when paired with the ISAT-200A, compliments the satcom unit by enabling Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, ethernet and POTS connectivity, and 2G, 3G, and 4G cellular connectivity. The interface with the Helionix system allows operators to offload post-flight FDM and aircraft data wirelessly, offload data using automated systems, and transfer data while in the air. This will benefit various helicopter verticals SKYTRAC serves, from air medical operators who wish to transfer medical data inflight to offshore oil and gas operators who want post-flight aircraft data automatically offloaded once landed.
