It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Ray Larkin last week in his home in Virginia. Ray was a good friend and a great mentor to many of us at SKYTRAC. He will be deeply missed as a key member of our team and a widely respected industry professional. We will remember Ray for his gentle kindness and perseverant grit in his personal and work life. His deep knowledge and expertise in avionics, satcom, and aeronautical regulations was a trusted resource throughout our industry.
With a quick wit, Ray mastered “dad jokes” and had countless funny anecdotes from his many experiences in the Air Force, business, and his family. His favorite pastime was riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, including a classic Police version he’d use for Sunday rides down the Colonial Parkway between Yorktown and Jamestown, Virginia.
We are in contact with Ray’s family about plans for a memorial service. His family has asked us to gauge interest in attending his service.
