Founded in 1953 as a local club for those who built and restored their aircraft, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) quickly grew to become a vibrant aviation community and is now an international organization representing virtually the entire spectrum of recreational aviation. Today, the EAA, headquartered in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, is a non-profit with over 200,000 members worldwide. The EAA aims to inspire new participants in aviation and enrich the experience of current aviators by protecting the rights and freedom to fly, encouraging affordable flying, providing information and resources, and supporting aviation events.
Each year, the EAA hosts AirVenture at the Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, where government officials, corporate leaders, and aviation enthusiasts gather for a week. The event successfully attracts more than 500,000 attendees with numerous forums, workshops, speakers, and more.
